Nest by Markus Johansson

November 11, 2013

We remember when we first clapped eyes on this Pick of the Day - Nest by Markus Johansson. It was in 2011 at the CheckIn: Unpacked exhibition during Stockholm Design Week.
We actually had the priviledge to see Johansson set up Nest in front of our eyes, from a pile of wooden pins, each with an identical bend angle. The resulting form was a definite eye-catcher and remains so even today.
According to the designer, Nest is a piece that embraces both symmetry and the asymmetrical. It's made of braided round rod,s with no right angles, in raw wood or uniform, bold colours.
We're not the sort to speculate but hello Iron Throne precursor...
