Sprout Table by Lena Louisa Meyer

November 12, 2013

Pick of the Day today is Lena Louisa Meyer's Sprout Table, combining modern design with traditional craft to create a meeting point for notions of green-thinking and the continued introduction of plants into our homes.
The square pine surface of the table is adorned with a tablet of sorts, featuring a motif reminiscent of the humble embroidered doily. The tablet can be lifted up and plants or herbs grown through its holes - to be clipped off and enjoyed as part of a the dining experience.
Meyer's Sprout Table brings a tangible sense of the worth of food itself in our western conventions, while, at the same time, drawing diners together in discursive unison.
