Bike Right

April 22, 2013

Tomorrow at Svensk Form's PechaKucha night (hosted by our Editor, Richard Prime), we'll be joined by another of Sweden's young cycle-related companies.
With Spring kicking in big time, it's time to start reinflating tires and dusting off helmets as our thoughts turn to the many benefits of cycling. One company we hope will soon join us on the site is Porteur, based here in Stockholm. As well as offering a really nice urban bicycle, the company has a very strong social commitment and, for each bike sold, gives another to a family or person in Africa through an arrangement with Unicef.
Today it's the company's first birthday and a couple of weeks ago the first shipment of 'bikes in kind' landed in Africa. To celebrate its birthday, the company 'borrowed' some of Stockholm's cycle lane signage for some cute marketing.
If you too are getting ready for a few months of clean commuting, why not check out our Contributor Bookman whose cycle range is wonderfully well designed.
